Principle:

The H7 Antigen Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay used to detect the presence of H7 antigens in samples such as bird swabs (nasopharyngeal, tracheal) or fecal matter. The test operates based on the following key steps:

  1. Sample Preparation
Samples (e.g., nasopharyngeal swab, tracheal swab, or fecal sample) are collected and mixed with the lysis buffer to release viral antigens.
  2. Immune Reaction
The antigens in the sample bind to specific antibodies conjugated with gold nanoparticles or other markers pre-coated on the test cassette, forming an antigen-antibody complex.
  3. Chromatographic Flow
The sample mixture migrates along the nitrocellulose membrane. When the antigen-antibody complex reaches the test line (T line), it binds to another layer of antibodies immobilized on the membrane, creating a visible test line. Unbound reagents continue migrating to the control line (C line), ensuring the test's validity.
  4. Result Interpretation
    • Two lines (T line + C line): Positive result, indicating the presence of H7 antigens in the sample.
    • One line (C line only): Negative result, indicating no detectable H7 antigens.
    • No line or T line only: Invalid result; the test should be repeated with a new cassette.
