Testsealabs Rotavirus/Adenovirus Antigen Combo Test
Rotavirus is one of the main pathogens causing diarrhea in infants and young children. It mainly infects small intestinal epithelial cells, resulting in cell damage and diarrhea.
Rotavirus is prevalent in summer, autumn and winter every year, with the fecal-oral route as its mode of transmission. The clinical manifestations include acute gastroenteritis and osmotic diarrhea. The course of the disease is generally 6-7 days, with fever lasting 1-2 days, vomiting 2-3 days, diarrhea 5 days, and severe dehydration symptoms may occur.
Adenovirus infections can be asymptomatic or present with specific symptoms, including mild respiratory infections, keratoconjunctivitis, gastroenteritis, cystitis, and primary pneumonia.
