Summary
HBeAb is a specific antibody produced by the body's immune system stimulated by the hepatitis B virus E antigen, and this specific E antibody can bind to the E antigen. HBeAb is produced following the natural course of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, following the hepatitis B virus core antibody (HBcAb). HBeAb is a sign of reduced viral replication, reduced lesion activity, and less infectivity. However, HBeAb is different from hepatitis B virus surface antibody (HBsAb),HBeAb is not a protective antibody and does not mean that the patient has immunity.
